National Long Distance Championship: Orienteering Race in Ethe
A national orienteering competition in the woods and fields around Ethe, for athletes and nature lovers.

On June 28, 2026, Ethe hosts a national orienteering competition, with the start at ARNO school from 1:00 PM. This discipline combines running and navigation in the great outdoors: equipped with a map and compass, participants must reach checkpoints scattered throughout the surrounding woods and countryside.
Ethe, a small village in Gaume between Virton and the French border, offers hilly and varied terrain, ideal for this type of event. The competition attracts experienced runners and families who come to cheer them on, in a sporty yet friendly atmosphere. The area around the school transforms into a base camp, with tents, refreshments, and technical commentary.
If you're staying in the region, it's an opportunity to discover a lesser-known discipline. Plan on good shoes if you want to walk around a bit, and allow a few hours on site to soak up the atmosphere. Ethe is located about ten minutes by car from Virton, easily accessible from our gîtes.
