Useldeng in the Middle Ages: time travel in Useldange

On 9 July 2026, Useldange (Useldeng in Luxembourgish) steps back into its medieval past with a grand historical celebration. This Luxembourg village, located about thirty kilometres north of Belgian Gaume, honours its heritage with period entertainment, craftspeople, and historical reenactments.

Dominated by the ruins of its medieval castle, Useldange provides a natural backdrop for this popular event. The festivities draw families, history enthusiasts, and curious visitors eager to experience daily life from centuries past in a welcoming, accessible atmosphere.

From Virton or Torgny, allow around 45 minutes' drive to reach Useldange. It's an excellent opportunity to combine a stay in Gaume with a discovery of neighbouring Luxembourg, perfectly suited for a day trip.
