Every second Sunday of October, Vianden celebrates walnuts with 20,000 visitors coming to discover local products, entertainment and Luxembourgish tradition.

Veiner Nëssmoort: Vianden's Walnut Festival

The Veiner Nëssmoort takes place on 11 October 2026 in Vianden, a small medieval town in Luxembourg. This popular festival brings together up to 20,000 people each year around the walnut, an emblematic product of the region. Producer stalls, tastings and entertainment punctuate this friendly day.

The market atmosphere fills the cobbled streets of Vianden, dominated by its imposing castle. Families, lovers of local produce and curious visitors mingle in a festive atmosphere typical of Luxembourg. The event attracts both locals from the surrounding area and tourists passing through the Our valley.

From Belgian Gaume, Vianden is about forty minutes by car. Plan to arrive early in the morning to make the most of the market and avoid the afternoon crowds. Parking can be limited: consider parking on the outskirts.
