Gallor Loop n°7: Following Roman Footsteps by Bike

This 28-kilometre cycling loop takes you along the path of Roman legionaries who made Arlon (Orolaunum) one of the major cities of Northern Gaul. The route winds through forests and rolling countryside, where every turn echoes the millennial footprint of Rome.

Start from Arlon's Tourist Office, where remnants of the ancient past still line the streets. The circuit leads you through typical agricultural landscapes of Luxembourg Gaume, alternating gentle climbs with pleasant descents. Expect around 2 hours in the saddle for regular cyclists, longer if you take time to explore the heritage points along the way.

Bring a hybrid or road bike in good condition, as some sections use rolling paths that can be gravelled. Spring and autumn offer ideal light to appreciate this journey through time. The route suits cyclists with decent fitness levels, accustomed to the moderate reliefs of Gaume.
