La Bajocienne – Countryside Walk from Ruette

This 10 km hike takes you into the heart of the Gaume countryside, where the village of Ruette reveals its peaceful, authentic character. The village name, thought to derive from the Latin Rivita ('The Little River') or Ruvitta ('The Little Street'), reflects a history rooted in the gentle local landscape.
The trail alternates between farm tracks and hedgerow-lined paths, offering open views over the fields and rolling hills typical of Gaume. Allow around 2.5 hours of leisurely walking to fully enjoy the scenery, with some shaded sections perfect for warm summer days.
