What to Do in the Gaume and Belgian Ardennes This August 2026 Weekend: Jazz, Medieval Fairs and Shooting Stars
Our pick of the finest outings this weekend in the Gaume, Bouillon and the Belgian Province of Luxembourg: live jazz, medieval festivals and a starry sky.

A first August weekend full of promise
Some weekends, the Gaume and the Ardennes seem to conspire to delight the curious traveller. The one running from 7 to 9 August 2026 is just such a moment: between music, knights and shooting stars, the hardest part will be choosing. Here is our little notebook of favourites to shape your days.
Jazz settles in Rossignol
We couldn't open this carnet without saluting the region's great gathering. The Gaume Jazz Festival 2026 celebrates its 42nd edition in Rossignol, just minutes from our cottages. For three days, the stages come alive to the rhythm of live jazz, in an atmosphere that is both warm and refined. It's the kind of evening you remember for a long time, a drink in hand as night gently falls over the valley.
A journey back in time
For lovers of history and spectacle, two medieval escapes await. In Florenville, the Legend of Orval parade opens a colourful weekend. A little further on, the Bouillon Medieval Festival, at the foot of its legendary castle, offers a reconstructed encampment and roving performances. Hear ye, hear ye: the knights await.
Street art and a starlit sky
In Ruette, the La Rue et Toi Festival blends art and music in the open air all weekend long: a perfect stroll for the whole family. And to end on a high note, treat yourself to the Night of the Shooting Stars at the Millennium Tower in Gedinne. Lying in the grass, eyes on the August sky, you might just make a wish.
Making the magic last
Between a concert and a walk under the stars, there is nothing like returning to a haven where you feel at home. Our cottages in the Gaume, tucked into the heart of this generous region, are the ideal setting to savour every moment without rushing. See you soon along our paths.
