The finest mid-August escapes in Gaume
August settles gently over Gaume, bringing with it that particular golden light that makes summer evenings feel endless. Between village festivals, castles to explore and starlit nights, the coming days offer travellers plenty to fill their notebook with beautiful discoveries. Here is our selection, gathered along the roads of Belgian Luxembourg.
Looking up to the sky
If you were to keep only one date, it would be this one. On 12 August, The Night of the Stars returns to the Euro Space Center, in the heart of the Saint-Hubert Forest. Free and without booking, the event invites young and old to contemplate the heavens just as the Perseids light up the night. An experience to share as a family, head among the stars.
Local flavours and heritage in Gaume
That same day, the Randonnaille in Ethe blends culture and gourmet delight beautifully. Meet at 1:30 pm at the Château de Laclaireau for a guided tour followed by a nature walk and a tasting of regional produce. A delicious way to grasp the soul of our region (€20/adult).
Arlon in festival mode
The provincial capital pulses to the rhythm of the Arlonfolies. Don't miss the concert by Miossec, preceded by Josef Out on 13 August: an evening of French chanson full of fire and emotion. To extend the discovery, the Flash Tours of Place Léopold reveal the secrets of Arlon's historic heart in just thirty minutes.
And since the finest days call for gentle nights, why not set down your bags in one of our cottages, in the quiet of the Gaume countryside, to fully savour every moment of this beautiful summer?
