What to Do in the Gaume and Belgian Ardennes in Mid-August 2026: Our Favourite Outings
Shooting stars, local flavours, concerts and unusual walks: our pick of the finest outings in the Gaume, Arlon and the Ardennes for mid-August 2026.

A Summer That Sparkles in the Gaume and the Ardennes
There are weeks when the region seems to hold its breath, between the scent of the woodland, the cool of the evenings and skies still full of light. Mid-August 2026 is one of them. Here is our selection, gathered village by village, to make the most of these few days across the Gaume, Arlon and the Ardennes.
Eyes Turned to the Infinite
If one evening deserves to have its twilight lingered over, it is that of 12 August. At the Euro Space Center, La Nuit des étoiles unfolds a programme that is free and requires no booking, perfect for dreamers young and old. Heads tipped back, hearts light, you watch for the shooting stars of the Perseids. A suspended moment, to be shared as a family beneath the great Ardennes sky.
Local Flavours at the Foot of the Château
On the same day, head for Ethe and the Randonnaille à Ethe. Meet at 1.30 pm at the Château de Laclaireau for a tour of the estate, a nature walk and, as a fitting finale, a tasting of local produce. Twenty euros to blend heritage, landscape and good food: the kind of afternoon that captures the whole spirit of the Gaume.
Music and Buzz in Arlon
The provincial capital pulses to the rhythm of Arlonfolies 2026, a festive, friendly gathering where you meet between two glasses. The following day, 13 August, Breton singer Miossec takes to the stage for an eagerly awaited concert, a precious moment of raw poetry and emotion.
A Walk Like No Other
Finally, in the Pays de Bouillon, the guided walk "Nature and infrastructure" offers a singular experience on 13 August: discovering the landscape alongside a blind guide and his dog Giza. An invitation to sense nature differently.
And what if these full days deserved a haven in which to set down your bags? Our Gîtes-Gaume await you, close to these lovely escapes, to prolong the softness of summer at the region's gentle pace.
