Que faire en Gaume et en Ardenne belge fin août 2026 : nos sorties coup de cœur

The final glow of a Gaume summer

There is, in these late August days, a special light over our valleys. The days still stretch out, evenings invite us to wander, and the whole region seems eager to celebrate summer's last embers. Here is our selection of outings, gathered from village to village, to make the most of these suspended days.

In the footsteps of water and memory

Let us begin with an invitation to walk. On 20 August, let the story of the Grand Ruisseau unfold during the guided walk In search of the lost mills, along the great stream. For centuries, these waters turned six mills and sustained an entire community: a gentle, enlightening immersion into our heritage.

The following day, nature lovers can join the Summer walk: the crayfish of Bellefontaine, narrated by Etienne D'Hoedt. Meet at the rural house at 6 pm, for just three euros, with the option of a friendly meal at the end.

Local flavours and good cheer

Lovers of local produce won't want to miss the Deux Ourthes Farmers' Market in Amberloup, this Thursday 20 August from 5 to 8 pm. A summer must, where producers and artisans share the very best of the region.

To extend the pleasure, the 15th Gourmet Walk through the village farms, on 21 August, promises an aperitif, soup and hand-cut steak tartare along a country trail. A delicious way to discover our landscapes.

A touch of the stage

Finally, Arlon's evenings come alive with the Arlonfolies and their adaptation of Sherlock Holmes: The Sign of the Four, on 21 August. Theatre and mystery to end the day in style.

And what if these beautiful days called for a longer pause? Our holiday homes, nestled in the heart of the Gaume, offer the rest and gentleness you need to explore the region at your own pace. For the length of a stay, let every morning be the start of a new adventure.
