What to Do in the Gaume and Belgian Ardennes? Our Favourite Outings for Late August 2026
From Florenville to Arlon, gourmet walks, concerts under old market halls and commemorations: discover our pick of the finest events in late August 2026 across the Gaume and Luxembourg Province.

The Last Glow of Summer in the Gaume
August drifts gently by, bringing that special golden light that wraps our stone villages in warmth. The evenings stay mild, tables are set outdoors, and the region unfolds a wealth of gatherings where local produce, music and memory meet. Here is our selection, crafted for those who take their time to savour the Gaume and the Belgian Ardennes.
Taste the Terroir, Glass in Hand
It's hard to resist the call of local producers. This Friday, the Marché Apéro du Terroir in Vresse-sur-Semois reinvents the traditional market with an on-site bar and food stalls: the perfect setting for a friendly aperitif among artisans and regional flavours.
For an even more indulgent experience, the 15th Gourmet Walk through the village farms takes you from farm to farm, from aperitif to hand-cut tartare, between 7pm and 8.30pm. A delicious ramble, best enjoyed slowly.
Music and Gentle Evenings
In Florenville, let yourself be carried away by the Concert under the Market Hall: from 7.30pm, the Royal Harmony Caecilia of Izel will fill the historic hall on Place Albert Ier with brass. A free, suspended moment beneath the Gaume stars.
Discover Nature Differently
The curious will love the Summer Walk: the Crayfish of Bellefontaine, guided by Etienne D'Hoedt (departure at 6pm from the rural house, €3), followed by a convivial meal by reservation.
A Duty of Remembrance
Finally, on 22 and 23 August, Virton and its villages mark the 112th anniversary of the Commemorations of the Battle of August 1914, a powerful moment of shared Franco-Belgian history.
Why not extend these beautiful days by settling into the heart of the region? Our Gîtes-Gaume houses await you—peaceful havens from which to explore all these treasures.
