What to Do in Gaume and Luxembourg Province in Late August 2026: Our Favourite Outings
Open-air theatre under the stars, blues at a castle and herbal walks: our pick of the finest outings in Gaume and the Belgian Ardennes for late August 2026.

A late-summer mood to savour to the full
The final days of August have a charm all their own: evenings stretch out, the light softens, and the whole region seems eager to celebrate summer before it slips away. In Gaume as in the Ardennes, the calendar is brimming with warm, human-scale gatherings, the kind you love to share with family or friends after a fine day of exploring. Here is our selection for the days ahead.
Theatre beneath the stars
We begin with an evening destined to become a cherished memory. On 26 August, let yourself be swept away by the open-air performance Théâtre en plein air "Un monde idéal". The show starts at 9 pm, as night falls and the stage lights up. Booking is required (€15): it's wise to reserve early for this poetic interlude under the Gaume sky.
Blues at the foot of a castle
On 28 August, head to the majestic Château du Faing for the Concert "Albert Blues Band". From 8.30 pm, warm blues riffs will echo through this exceptional heritage setting. And best of all: admission is free. A perfect evening to feel the groove without a care in the world.
Walking to nature's rhythm
For lovers of the outdoors, two invitations to slow down. On the morning of 28 August, set off on a Balade médicinale en Gaume (11 am to noon, €10, booking required) and learn to recognise the botanical treasures of our trails. In the Ardennes, the Observatoire de La Fossedu opens its doors for one last stargazing evening, running until 28 August.
Making the moment last
Every one of these escapes tastes all the sweeter when you take the time to stay a while. Setting down your bags in a charming holiday home in the heart of Gaume means treating yourself to the luxury of lingering, coming home late after a concert and waking to birdsong. Our houses await you, ready to become your base camp for these beautiful days.
