What to Do in the Gaume and Belgian Ardennes in Late August 2026: Our Finest Outings

Concerts, medicinal walks, starlit nights and nature discoveries: our pick of the must-see events in the Gaume and Luxembourg Province for late August 2026.

Que faire en Gaume et en Ardenne belge fin août 2026 : nos plus belles sorties

A last breath of summer to savour in the Gaume

The final days of August have a charm all their own: the evenings linger, the light turns golden, and the whole region seems eager to make the most of the season's final pleasures. Between the Gaume, Arlon and the Ardennes, the coming days brim with gatherings where nature, music and good company come together. Here is our selection, crafted for those who love to experience the region a little differently.

Reconnecting with nature

There is nothing quite like a guided walk to unlock the secrets of our landscapes. On 28 August, the Medicinal Walk in the Gaume takes you, from 11am to noon, to discover the plants that line our paths — an accessible and fascinating interlude (booking required, 10 €).

For those who prefer more mysterious thrills, head to the Bouillon area on 29 August for The Wings of the Night. As dusk falls, two passionate guides introduce the whole family to the discreet world of bats. A suspended moment, on the edge of the marvellous.

Music and the sweetness of life

On the evening of 28 August, the Château du Faing hosts the Albert Blues Band Concert at 8.30pm, free of charge. A striking setting and a warm atmosphere: the perfect way to round off a day in style.

Simply walking

Finally, on 29 August, the Marche des Galopins invites walkers on an 8 km route, in a group, free and without registration. Departure at 2pm from the church car park, led by guide Béatrice Hutlet.

Making the pleasure last

The beauty of these escapades is that they are best enjoyed without haste, at the pace of an extended stay. Setting down your bags in one of the Gîtes-Gaume means giving yourself the luxury of drifting from a walk to a concert, then returning to unwind at the heart of a region that simply invites you to take your time.
