What to Do in the Gaume and Belgian Ardennes on Sunday 30 August 2026: Markets, Flea Markets and Gravel Racing
Our pick of the finest outings for Sunday 30 August 2026 in the Gaume, Arlon and Luxembourg Province: a producers' market, friendly flea markets and the European Gravel Championship.

A last Sunday of August full of flavour
August bows out gracefully in our valleys. Mornings remain gentle, afternoons scented with cut hay and Gaumaise tarts. This Sunday 30 August 2026 offers a lovely programme for those who love to wander, browse and soak up village life. Here is our selection, to be enjoyed at leisure.
A taste of the land at Château du Faing
Begin the day at the local producers and artisans market, gathering more than 70 exhibitors in the romantic setting of Château du Faing, from 10am to 6pm. Farmhouse cheeses, honeys, craft beers, artisan creations: the perfect place to fill a basket with regional treasures and chat with those who bring the Gaume to life.
Treasure hunting from village to village
Flea market lovers will be spoilt. In Ethe, the Sunday flea market enlivens the streets from morning in a friendly atmosphere, ideal for unearthing that one object with a story to tell. The same day, the 41st Ronde Gaumaise brings vintage vehicles and a scenic tour to Ethe, with a flea market at the Champ de Foire. A nostalgic gathering where chrome gleams in the sun.
Sporting thrills in Houffalize
For a shot of adrenaline, head to the north of the province: Houffalize hosts the Bolero UEC European Gravel Championship 2026. In a spectacular Ardennes setting, Europe's gravel elite takes to the trails. A breathtaking spectacle, even for newcomers.
Making it last
These days are best savoured when you're not watching the clock. Settling into one of the Gîtes-Gaume means the luxury of returning unhurried from a flea market, sharing market cheese on a quiet terrace, and letting the Gaume unfold its seasons at your own pace. The region is simply waiting for you.
