What's on in the Gaume this weekend? Heritage, flavours and walks — September 2026
Heritage Days, a gourmet walk in Ethe, traditional crafts at Fourneau Saint-Michel: our pick of the finest outings across the Gaume and Belgian Luxembourg on 13 September 2026.

A September Sunday, just as it should be
Some days feel tailor-made for the Gaume. The 13th of September 2026 is one of them: the light turns golden, the orchards hang heavy, and the whole region throws open its doors for the Heritage Days. Here is our selection, gathered village by village, for guests staying with us who are looking for that perfect balance between curiosity and unhurried pleasure.
Walking for the pleasure of the table
In Ethe, the Tasting Walk turns a country stroll into a trail of local flavours: a few kilometres, a few stops, and the distinct feeling of having grasped something essential about this corner of Belgium. The Gourmet Walk hosted by the Échos du Ton sets off from 10.30am — booking is warmly advised, for locals know a good thing when they see one.
Heritage, alive and lived-in
At Gérouville, one of the region's loveliest villages tells its story from 2pm to 6pm: guided circuit, activities, a concert and light refreshments. Further north, the Fourneau Saint-Michel gathers craftspeople, guides and artists around traditional trades, with workshops and demonstrations that delight all ages. And for lovers of old stone and running water, the Lomprez watermill — in a town founded in the 14th century by John the Blind — has lost none of its soul.
A mystery at the museum
In Arlon, the Gaspar Museum invites you to solve "Who stole the sonata score?" — a family investigation, perfect should the sky turn moody.
When evening falls, the best part of the programme remains: coming home, pushing open the door, setting down your things. The Gîtes-Gaume exist for exactly those returns — the ones where the day is retold in low voices, glass in hand, before the silence of the Gaume takes over.
